Selen Shojaee is a dynamic Architect and Energy Design Engineer whose professional journey is defined by a deep commitment to sustainable building performance and interdisciplinary technical coordination. With a robust background spanning both architectural design and advanced mechanical engineering systems, she plays a pivotal role at the American Institute of Construction and Engineering, overseeing the development of technical curricula that bridge the gap between design intent and field-ready construction feasibility.

Expertise in Sustainable Design & Energy Engineering: Currently serving as an Energy Design Engineer in Manhattan, Selen Shojaee specializes in building energy modeling, high-efficiency HVAC system design, and energy-performance analysis. Her expertise is instrumental in ensuring that our programs at the American Institute of Construction and Engineering are grounded in modern energy codes, ASHRAE standards, and rigorous sustainability frameworks. From performing complex HVAC load calculations to integrating cutting-edge 3D laser scanning (Scan-to-BIM) into construction workflows, she brings a sophisticated, data-driven approach to engineering education.

Academic Leadership & Innovation: Beyond her corporate industrial experience, Shojaee is a dedicated educator and researcher. As the founder of Zero CDW, a research-driven initiative focused on circular economy strategies in construction, she is a leading voice in minimizing waste and enhancing material performance. Her academic leadership—rooted in her Master’s degrees in Strategic Design & Management from Parsons (The New School) and Executive Management—enables her to develop credential programs that are not only technically sound but also strategically aligned with the evolving demands of the global engineering market.
